Project Background
The Ethiopian customer is a growing producer of roofing sheets and PPGI panels supplying housing projects, small industrial buildings and local distributors. As construction volume increased, their manual and semi-mechanical cut-to-length setup became a bottleneck. Sheet lengths were marked by hand and sheared with limited accuracy, leading to inconsistent overlap dimensions on roofing panels and frequent rework in the field.

The African climate—with strong sun and seasonal rains—means that any mismatch in roof panel fit quickly becomes visible as leaks and customer complaints. Their management realized that without a more reliable CTL line focused on roofing and PPGI, they would struggle to differentiate on quality and would be stuck in low-price competition.

Key Configuration & Parameters
We supplied a 0.3–3.0 mm × 1600 mm flying shear cut-to-length line with a standard leveler. The line balances surface protection for coated coils with reliable shape correction and length control, tailored to roofing and PPGI production.

Customer Benefits & Feedback
After the new line was put into service, sheet length and flatness became much more consistent. Roofing overlaps are cleaner, installation is easier for contractors and leak complaints have dropped noticeably. The customer appreciates the simple operation, low maintenance requirements and improved yield and productivity compared with their old equipment, and they now promote “better fitting roofing systems” as a selling point.
